Change the World

You, yes you, can change the world. How, you might ask? There are plenty of ways and I’ll give you some ideas below.

  1. If you live in the USA, vote on November 3rd. Your vote has never mattered more. Ask yourself if your life is better than exactly four years ago. Four years ago, I was not in quarantine. Four years ago, I had a job. Four years ago, I was not attending anti-fascist protests. How about you?

2. Love one another, and I don’t mean sexual love. I mean caring love that accepts other people as equals who may also be hurting and need support. Make sure you are kind to everyone you meet, from the baggers at grocery stores to cashiers everywhere to waitstaff at restaurants. These people are putting themselves at risk for you and they are stressed and don’t want to bring COVID19 home with them.

3. Take a walk and take along a bag. Pick up and then dispose of any trash you come across.

4. When there is a proven vaccine for COVID19, get it. We can achieve herd immunity if a large percentage of us get vaccinated. Then we can get back to a more normal life. That would change the world.

5. Check up on your neighbors, especially the elderly. Offer to run errands for them.

6. Do things that make you happy. If you are in a good place, you are a better person for the people around you.

7. Take care of your health. Protect yourself and seek medical health when you need it.

8. Stay in touch with other people. Talk to your family and friends.

9. Hear other ideas and other people’s opinions. Don’t believe everything you hear on TV or read online. Research to form your own opinions.

Do you have any simple ideas for how you can change the world?
